Congratulations! TM Is Now IPv6 Ready

Congratulations! TM Is Now IPv6 Ready
Dear colleagues,

We are proud to announce that TM is now ready for IPv6 by implementing Dual Stack platform for UniFi and Streamyx starting 27 September 2013 for NOVA and ICP.

The usage of Internet has increased tremendously over the past few years. As the number of devices being connected to the Internet increases, the current IP which is the IPv4 is not able to accommodate addresses. IPv6 is the next generation of IP that will replace the current IPv4 and eliminate IP address exhaustion problem.

As the Internet progressively becomes a dual IPv4/IPv6 network, ensuring that users are IPv6-enabled will be critical for retaining universal Internet connectivity. However, IPv4 and IPv6 are two completely separate protocols and do not support each other. Thus, in order to address this issue, TM is implementing dual stack platform.

With the implementation of Dual-Stack platform, TM users will receive both IPv6 and IPv4 addresses. It allows users to simultaneously reach IPv4 and IPv6 content and offers very flexible coexistence strategy to support transition from IPv4 to IPv6. The network will continue to work as per normal with no effect on billing and internet connection. For more info on IPv6 and Dual-Stack, click here.

    2. I think I am in the same position as Fitri. I have followed the attached guide but there is no checkbox to enable "IPv6". Is this only for newer D-Link DIR-615 routers?

    3. The router I have works. It's D-Link DIR-615 f/w 7.17

    4. Firmware 7.17 is not originally by TM.

TM is now only provide until 7.15 firmware version for TM DLink Router..

    5. Then why our Router is 7.17 firmware?
The router is all updated by TM....

    6. No!. Latest firmware from TM is 7.15.

The 7.17 is originally from dlink that being updated automatically. Then, if the UniFi technician go to your house, ask them to downgrade to 7.15. This is because, the 7.15 firmware has been modified by TM to make it smooth in the TM server.

You also can downgrade your firmware by your own by referring at the "TROUBLESHOOTING" section.

      Tq :)

    8. Dear Asman Sulaiman.

You have to get into operator/Management username. If you get into admin account, you will face the limitation of configuration.

  5. My D-Link DIR-615 router automatically updated to 7.19, and the Parental control is not working, is there a solution?

    1. So far, no solution because the RG that TM supplied to you is from D-Link and D-Link is responsible for the automatically firmware update because TM only use their system for the stability of the router.

      Several try and error:
      1. Login as Management and see the existing configuration in the router.
      2. Downgrade the firmware from 7.19 to 7.15

Both action-to-be-taken can be found in this blog for the step-by-step guide.
