  8. I was streamyx user before and upgraded to Unifi. I just moved to a new place which no unifi coverage available. Earlier when i checked with Unifi customer service, they told me that I can downgrade to Streamyx without any charges incurred. Today I went to TM point for downgrade process. The officer told me that I need to terminate Unifi and re-register with Streamyx. I need to pay the deposit and also the wiring. I really piss off with TM. They said that Unifi and Streamyx is separate management. As a customer I really disappointed to know that. Unifi and Streamyx is under TM and TM need to overcome this issue for customer convenience.

Do not 100% trust the TM Point staff, because they are just as TM representative and they might not be update to date.

  24. Hi,

I like to know what is the best option for me whether to relocate my one month UNIFI VIP 5 to my new address or to just terminate the service and subcribe for a new UNIFI 5 since my new address is UINIFI READY?

I first subscribe for streamyx in my current address due to port full issue with unifi in my apartment then but UNIFI became available after a week installation of my streamyx so i later upgraded my streamyx to UNIFI VIP 5 on 12th march 2015 after a week usage of STREAMYX.

Now i am moving to a new address and my new address is already covered by TMUNIFI,

    1. can i either terminate my current service at my current address and then subscribe for a fresh/new UNIFI VIP 5 at my new address?

    2. Will my current address UNIFI port still be available after termination of my current service at my current address in case of the new people that will be moving in after i leave my current addresss so that they don't run to issue of PORT FULL?

    3. If i'm to relocate my service to my new address, what are the requirements, how longt does it take to do the new installation at my new address and is there any charges expected for relocation service?

I would appreciate to read or hearing from you soon, thanks with best regards!

    1. Dear Taiwo87.

      1. Yes, you can terminate your current UniFi service, but you will be penaltilize by TM as your current UniFi is still in contract which is 2 years after activation.

      2. Either you make relocate or terminate the UniFi service, your current port still will be 'released' in the system and other tenant could use that port as long as the port is still available.

      3. Relocate will need you to make an appoinment as well as your 1st UniFi installation. You have to bring all of the UniFi equipments to your new home sweet home.

    1. Dear Vincy Tan.

If you already install UniFi, then you want to relocate, the fee of rm300 waived.

If you do not have UniFi installed yet, means that you are not applied with the terms and condition for UniFi users, because your are not yet as a UniFi user. UniFi user is, when they already install the UniFi, and activated, and you can use the triple play services (HSI + VOBB + IPTV = VIP Packages), then yet you are UniFi user.

For your case, just call or walk in to TM Point point to cancel the order. No penalty because you are not yet as UniFi user.

      TQ.

For your case, it should be no charge at all.
      But..
      1. Your current UniFi account will be terminated. (With no charge eventhough your are still in contract because the new area has no UniFi coverage)
      2. You are adviced to take the highest speed package for streamyx.

Your current UniFi (at your current house), will be terminated 1-3 working days before the streamyx installation at your new house.

The relocation process will be in 14 working days approximately.

I hope this info helps you. Thank you.

  72. Hi, I am relocating my unifi lite 10Mbps to Penang from KL. The apt that I am relocating do not have unifi. Only streamyx max 2Mbps. Can I refuse to accept the downgrade as streamyx in that area sucks. My data speed is much better. What happen to my contract. Still have 20 months to go.

    1. Dear Zainalmy...

For the relocating issue, if no unifi coverage, TM will offer for the existing service at the relocated place. But if you want to terminate, you may got penalty. No worries, just go to TM Point and they usually will decide the best solution for customer.

    1. Dear Vincy Tan...

You have to bring along the streamyx bill and the unifi bill (your last house), to TM Point. They will check it for you. Usually, waive is not easy to give but not impossible.. :)

    1. Dear LITTLEM..

Yes.. You have to bring along the new oenwer to TM Point. But if em not mistaken there is an option to just photostate front/back NRIC of the new owner.
